Have any geeks been treated with Dermal Fillers? Were you pleased with results?

If you have, which brand was used, I`ve been looking into Restylane, Juvaderm and Radiesse.

Would love to hear from any one with feedback, good or bad!!

Hi,
I've had Restylane ( a nurse comes into my salon for clients and she gave me some half price !)
It was a bit sore, especially around the base of the nose, but I asked her for more anaesthetic cream and then it was OK.
It was quite a good result and I felt 'fresh-faced' for a while, but it didn't seen to last long. Maybe about 4 months, but it's difficult to tell as it dissipates slowly.
Don't know if I'd have more as it's quite an expensive habit.

please can i ask a question? do you have to have a nursing qualification to administer these fillers? I am thinking of finding someone to come into the salon to do them.

Yes you should be medically qualified to inject fillers for a whole host of reasons.

Regarding what type of filler to have - I use all types you mentioned. It is not a case of one type suits all. What needs to be discussed is where the filler is going - for instance I would NEVER put radiesse into a patients lips, anticipated outcomes - are expectations realistic, BIG CONSIDERATION!

Before and after photos should always be taken. Firstly for litigation reasons and secondly the individual has an instant visual (before and after). It is amazing how many people actually 'forget' how deep lines/folds were before. The emphasis should be taken away from filling lines so to speak, but more replacing lost volume and keeping a NATURAL look. The key is for the patient to have a 'well' look rather than being able to tell a filler has been injected. Results should be subtle, that is why it is important to have realistic expectations.

Radiesse - deeper folds (nose to mouth lines and oral commisures), and facial contouring, restylane/juvederm - great for lips.

Botox - upper face (crows feet, frown lines and glabella).

Expect to pay from around £250 up to £350 for one area. Most fillers last around 12 - 18 months (radiesse longer), but again can depend on many factors.

Hope this helps. PM me if you need further info.

Hi,
I was told that Juvaderm has a slight numbing effect built in, I have had Restylane and it was not painfull due to loads of cream being applied 30 mins before. I had different thicknesses of product applied to different areas of my face depending on need and the results are fab! Especially as I got a really cheap rate by going to a private clinic where I was a model for teaching.

yes, juvederm does contain lidocaine (numbing agent), so does restylane (new launch) - although both only in small quantities.

You can also have a dental block (particularly for lips).
