Did Blondie Rae test piece - help!

Hi geeks, I've done a test piece with blondie Rae the hair was around a base 4 and has lifted up about two shades to a golden brown looks like a 6.5 I use igora, 6.5 is the shade she had picked as her target shade she has roots which are around a base 7 so how am I gunna match it up and put a 6.5 on her roots with out atall touching the part thats been lifted with blondie Rae if the 6.5 touches that part it's gunna go really dark, hope this makes sense. I've uploaded a picture but you can't see it very well.

Just apply your colour carefully? Are you also using asemi?xx

Yeah I was gunna use a semi, is that the right thing to do? It's my first time using blondie Rae so just abit worried. Xx

Ok, I'm just more worried if I overlap abit as theres not much difference between the colours. Xx
