Hi All

Now, call me thick if you want, I don't mind..... no honestly I don't
I went on my waxing course yesterday and we used warm wax. I did Eyebrows, Lip, Legs, Underarms and Bikini on my model. Originally it was a 1 day fast track course but I decided to change it to VTCT Level 2. At the end of the day I was given my course work and it it says that when I go in for my assessment days I have to use HOT wax at least 3 times. Well I didn't actually use hot wax yesterday so how am I supposed to know how to use this. I don't actually know the difference.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You are not thick. You are wise for asking. I am not familiar with the course you attended or how it converts to a VTCT lev 2.

The diferences between the 2 waxes are the ingredients, application and removal techniques and the temperature of the wax.

Personally, I feel it is better to wax course hairs eg, underarms/bikini with hot wax, which is also known as non strip wax. Warm wax requires a paper or material strip for removal and is also known as strip wax.

If you are expected to use hot wax, then you definitely need to be taught how to use it properly and you should not go into an assessment having never been taught.

Did you ask your tutor how they expect you to do this with no training? This is not something you can learn from just notes.

Thank you

Yes I was told that hot wax should be used on courser hairs such as bikini and underarms and I have used muslin and paper on my course. She said that i will get case studies (which I have) then I will go in for assessments, but surely they will teach me hot wax. I only have a warm wax heater with a separate inner for my paraffin wax.
Maybe I should get intouch
But thank you for your help
:)

I sincerely hope they do teach you and demonstrate the hot wax procedure. Contact them to find out. Don't leave it to chance.

What wax heater do you have? Depending on the type of heater you have, you should be able to use both hot and warm wax by interchanging the pots of wax.
