Do you ever socialise with clients you have become friendly with?

It is not a good idea to socialise too much. A little is good to make the clents feel wecome. I think is is better to listen if they want to say something rather than talking myself.

BAD IDEA to socialize with clients. I got myself in hot water. Don't want to talk about it !

Please! Go on go on go on!

Actually about 15 years ago this boasting annoying client kept on inviting me to her huge mansion for parties, so my friend and I went. We were not that invited if you know what I mean, and the friend I brought with me was a girl I live next door to when we were growing up, she was now a gobby stripper, so didn't go down that well! She stopped inviting after that and coming! But to be honest she was a first class pain constantly over stepping the boundaries and picking a manicure tools to pick her nails with while you were working. I think it's ok when they are in the same line of work beauty or hair as there is more likely a mutual respect. Although our salon once paired up with a hair salon for a Xmas party, the hairdresser decided to get coked out her head at a spa retreat! Lol

Actually though many of my best friends have been clients. The only ones the it causes problems for is the ones who think you will be fussing over them like you do at work!

I think this is the thing about what we do. We are friendly, we laugh, listen and are very friendly. Then our clients think we are their friends. Yes, I'm always interested in what they say, their lives etc. but that's where I draw the line. They are clients not friends!
