Sweatheart, I know its really tough but you know what you need to do.
Pack a bag for him and leave it on the doorstep with a note saying that until he changes, he is not welcome back in your home. Dont spend time talking to him as he will just become loud and aggressive. You dont need it and neither do your children. If it not his home and you are not married, then it is simple, he is out. If he starts kicking down the door, just call the police and have them remove him. Or is you have brothers nearby get them to stay until he has gone.
Dont let him in for his other things unless someone is with you and dont listen to his sob stories. He has to prove he has changed, not just words.
