Hi, Im new to the forum so hope Im posting in the correct place. Today I did a set of nail on a lady with eczema. She actually had eczema on one of her nail plates. She has had nail enchancements before and didnt think it was a problem. So I went ahead. I am now worrying about it. Has anyone had any experience with eczema on the nail bed?

I've not experienced eczema, but I have with psoriasis. The nails are usually pitted so make sure you fill in all the gaps to avoid bacterial infections. The main thing you have to worry about is if the skin is enflamed and swollen as this would be a contraindication which may mean you have to wait for it to settle down before proceeding with treatment - depending on the severity. I would think solar oil would just be fab for this lady as it is so moisturisng and has healing properties that are just fab.

Where is the eczema??? On the BED or the PLATE?

The nail plate is hard and made of keratin and is non living.
The nail BED sit beneath the Plate and is living and has a blood supply.

The eczema was on the plate and on the skin next to the cuticle edge of one finger. Ive have spoken to her today and she hasnt experienced any problems so far. If she does, Is it safe to remove the enhancement with acetone?

It's not a good idea to put a finger with eczema in Acetone. I myself would gently thin out the product and buff it off If I had to but I suspect that once the enhancement is on and she is having no problems then she will be OK.

hiya i have dermatitis on my nail plate, same sort of thing as excema, and my nail plates are very pitted and flaky, yet soft and almost soggy! ew. its becuase of hairdressing. when i have had enhancements ive never really had a problem....just stinging when they go on and when acetone is used.
