I was thinking of having a look on google, yell etc and sending out a email to salons in my area enquiring if they would be interested in renting a space to me, Im just not quite sure how to word it. Any ideas? Or do you think this is a rubbish idea? xx

Nothing wrong with initiative- and if you dont ask you dont get.

Just think about what you want, when and how and send it over! I dont think they'd be expecting Wordsworth. :)

i think its a good idea. i had a girl call me offering gel nails, and it is something i dont offer so i am considering it. sometimes you need to offer it to the salon rather than the salon offering it to you! I would either call or go into the salon though. make sure u look nice cos iv had some girls look awful and it has put me right off! :) just a personal thing. good luck, hope u find something soon x

you go gurl,i think its a great idea just write it as it is,clean cut and to the point what would you lose, err you wont some salons like new services it brings in more clientle,be positive,be cool.

this is how I found my rooms that I rent, I called around mostly hair slaons, introducing myself, telling them what I did and asked if they had any rooms/space that they might have that would be available to rent, not all got back to me, but I had a few and after going to visit them, I found a salon that rents me 2 small rooms, one a treatment room with my bed, a very small box room, that I am getting skimmed and painted and re-floored to be my spray tan room, and my nail station is out on the shop floor, go for it, call around a few in areas that you like and see what happens from there!! good luck!! x

You should get a list of salons in your area www.yell.com is great for this - you can enter the business type and the postcode / area to get a list.

Do as much research as you can on the salons. Check if they have a website or check them on www.google.co.uk for example.

Decide which ones you really want to go for and approach them first. I would post a letter / cv or call to the salon in person to drop a cv in and get a feel for the place.

Make sure you are dressed appropriately and have made an effort with your hair and make up. First impressions really count and making an effort will really pay off!

Best of luck with it.
