Hi,

I have been doing the essential nails course, and I was just wondering, when doing the full set, do the natural nails have to all be filed down to the same length before applying the tip?

When I do a normal set of nails, it's obvious what to do, but with the essential nail course each of the nails are different (nail bitter, maintainance, flat nail, long nail etc) I just wont know if they want all the tips to be of a similar length (like a real set of extensions) from the natural nail. Or should they all be different lengths according to what type of nail they are.

Hope this makes sense

Sarah

Give them a phone tomorrow and ask them, its very hard to follow hun

No you only have to file the natural tip so it fits the tips well properly, the trainer nails dont all have to be idenical in lengh. But you will then have to file all the tips to the exact same lengh and shape so they look like a maching set. hth

Im also doing the course and find that its the no;6 which need filing back loads....possibly the maintance nail aswell but i havent done one of those yet. hth x

Forgot to add that you can do some nails and send them into Sarah to support coach to have a look at them and she will be able to tell you if and where you are going wrong or right. I have just sent off my first card awaiting feedback from her before i start on the second card x

It was the maintainance I was having propbs with. The nail trainer is a really great tool, but I do find it easier doing real nails.

The only problem I had was if I file the maintaince nail to fit the tip, and then cut the tip, so it was the same length as the as the other tips it looks much longer than the other nails, so they don't really look like a propper set, and in the manual it doesn't really show how the finished test card should look.

Thanks

It probably will look longer because of the longer nail bed. When i was doing a hand full of no;6 nails i was just filing down so just the free edges of the tips where all the same size. I try and visulize (sp?) if free edges would look all even if they were white. I also did a nail biter and a thumb yesterday and again just filed the free edge of the tips so they were both the same despite the nail biter plate area being so tiny iykwim....im prob just confussing you now lol

Dont cut the tips all in the same lengh, trim them down when they are stuck on then file away to, so say...you have half a cm of free edge (smile area) on all 5 nails.so they don't really look like a propper set, and in the manual it doesn't really show how the finished test card should look.

Hope this is less confussing for you xx
