Hello
Just want to know your thoughts on fake bake and st tropez as not sure what to go for have seen good reviews on both. Please help:!:

I use the St Tropez hand applied method (I don't do spray tanning), and have had excellent results with it. I have no experience of Fake Bake. I suspect with good quality tans like these the main difference in result is the ability of the operator rather than the quality of the product. Perhaps it's worth going & trying them out yourself to see what you think?

Both are good companies ..YOU should speak to them both and from that go with the one you feel most comfortable with.

You could also have a look locally to you at all the other salons and check if any already do either of these brands...look to go with the brand that isn't already there....much easier to establish your spray tan business this way and also easier to avoid price reduction wars which can come easier when the same brand competes on the same high street.

HTH and good luck

I use both!
I use St Tropez as the tanning treatment, exfoliation application etc & fake bake spray. I stock a small selection of both products. I feel people know both names & some people have a preference.

I have faves of both products too. St Tropez bronzing mist flies off the shelf & the exfoliator is unrivalled imo. Fake bake spray tan is a fantastic colour & they have new products with anti-cellulite treatment in them! Fantastic!
Hope this helps xx

I don't use either now but i have in the past 100% fake bake is miles better. Get samples of both though and test for yourself. xx

I used Tantrick, however I found that a lot of clients were asking for 'Fake Bake' rather than a 'spray tan'. I've switched to Fake Bake all the way and the retial items sell themselves too. :wink2:

Thanks for you help it was very useful. I think i will try and get samples from both.
:)

Ive used and applied both St Tropez & Fake Bake and St Tropez wins hands down. We have the St Tropez Ultimate Air machine and the colour is great, its not streaky, not orange and doesnt dry your skin out half as much as Fake Bake. My skin was so dry with Fake Bake that it made my legs look scaly! I also think that St Tropez spray tan is a much more exclusive product, you can get fake bake in pretty much anywhere. I heard good things about tantrick too.

I have sprayed with both and tbh I do not rate St Tropez at all. It applies with a greenish sort of tinge to it and unless you apply two coats you get virtually no colour at all. I have also found that it runs when you apply it, even at a very low output setting on the hvlp.

Fake Bake is slightly better, applies with a decent colour guide, the tan outcome is ok.

I personally have used better than both though. However, what suits one technician won't suit another, so it is best to get samples and try for yourself. Yes it is great to get opinions, but only you can really decide.

Hi Joe

Can you tell me what you have used which you think is better.

I agree its st tropez for me I dont find fake bake a good colour on really pale skins, I used to use fake bake and switched to st tropez and all my clients much prefer it

Fake bake for me. I prefer the consistency, non stricky, doesnt really smell like st tropez.

doesnt go orange!!!

i think the preference is individual. although Fake bake is the leader of the self tanning industry - IMHO

i used st tropez spray in a previous employment it was fantastic although i origionally trained in fake bake , the green tinge of st tropez basically means it won't go orange , we also found that by mitting in the spray you got more even coverage .
however i am now going alone and really want to continue with st tropez but have no idea how much the air system will cost me to se up any ideas anyone xxx:hug:
