First time doing a root stretch on wet hair

Tomorrow I’m going to be doing a root stretch on my client who has full head bleached highlights already. I’m wanting to put 8.0 and 8.13 (NXT) on with 10 vol and have seen some videos on Instagram saying that it’s better to apply on wet hair as you get a better blend. Has anyone ever done this before and how long did you leave it on for? Plus would you do your balayage before the root stretch or after just in case the roots are patchy and need breaking up with some fine foils?

Darker shades will work perfect for a root stretch on wet hair, the water will dilute the colour anyone making it lighter x

Also use a wet brush to make it evenly blended and do after the highlights or balayage x
