I know this has been asked LOADS of times, but i've just had my first paying client & within 2 days her white polish chipped  (worried my rep will be ruined, before i've even started!!!) i've looked through many many threads & the only thing i could think it could be is my nail polish remover (came in the kit i purchased from the college!!!!) It's a skintruth make oily nail polish remover.....i've only just realised it was oily, and my understanding was that the nail & free edge should be grease free....... i've now purchased a non acetone remover & a acid free primer (recomm from Sally's Salon services) i've also agreed to re-do the clients nails free of charge.
With the primer do i apply with the brush all over the nail, let it dry then apply a base coat.
PLEASE HELP A WORRIED GEEK!!!!!!!
Also i've heard scrubfresh is a great product but don't know where i can purchase from in HERTS.

scrubfresh is a Creative product and supplied by Sweet Squared

why do you need a primer if it's juat polish?

maybe I got it wrong...

I am assuming here that you are talking about a french polish not french enhancements?

As long as you prep the natural nail correctly be using the new products you have bought, make sure you also get under the free edge when you do this too, everything should be fine.
Also use a good top coat and make sure your client allows the polish to dry.

HTH's

The lady at Sallys told me the primmer is just like scrubfresh it dehydrates the nail, taking all the oil from the nail & free edge, and gives the polish a better surface to be applied.

what brand of polish are you using?
they really vary in quality!
particularly if its not a proffesional brand
also ive found with most applications, if its too thick, and too many layers then it will always chip off the end, you need a super thin white...
and deffo make sure all the polish remover is off, and the nails are prepped x

Primer is for artificial enhancements only.. t is an acid base.. yes it stips the oil off the nail plate but it also is made to work alongside enhancement products NOT POLISH... this lady at sally's needs to go on a training course or 10................

First file clients nails... cuticle work if required, dehidrate the nail with acetone. lightly buff the nail for a smooth surface... remove all dust particles.. add a base coat then your french polish and top coat.. give a few seconds between applications.... leave for a min the apply a light oil such as solar oil also (available from Sweet squared), to the cuticle area give another min to dry then oull the excess oil over the nail to help dry.. Nb, if you cut the air supply off to the polish via the solar oil it will dry quicker and harder... leave a few mins then test the nail if it is dry then remove excess oil with a lint free pad. Hth....
