:confused:help
i had a client just over 6 months ago wanting a pedi, on inspection i suspected he had the nasty fungal nail :cry:so being the good little pedicurist i am sent him packing to the Dr's sure enough it was.
Anyway its been 6 months and only half of the nail has grown out and he would now like a pedi , now should i wait till its all grown out, or do i don the gloves and get stuck in or book the appointment for oct
i've been told that the fungus is now dead it's just the nail need to grow out
Any advise please!!

Hi, by best friend had the same thing. Went to the doc, applied the medication and now the fungus is dead.

As long as the fungus is dead, I think you can safely give him a pedi, now. You don't have to wait for the nail to grow out. HTH! :)

It is common for people to want their toe nails varnished to cover up an infection, so as long as you wear gloves and dispose of any files you use there shouldn't be a problem. Just remember, hygiene, hygiene, hygiene!!:)

hi have you got proof that the fungus is dead or just the clients word ?? i would have thought after 6 mths it would be dead but you never know for sure unless the there is a docs note

hi hun,
you can plainly see the new nail growth, i pretty sure that if the infection was on going there would not be any real nail growth (normal). but you never know it looked pretty horrible like someone had stuck a mountain on top of his toe. not quite sure how he ever got his shoes on
it does look much better
still not sure what to do. arhhhh!!!
if i do, its for sure every thing will be disposable!!!

Thanks everyone xxxxx

If you are unsure then you could ask for a Dr's note, to say it is purely regrowth now and not still infectious.

Ask to speak to his podiatrist or to for him to bring a clean bill of health from his GP.

I you want to do it then go ahead, but with all care and precautions.

Doctors note sounds the best route
