Gel Convert

Hi all

I trained in nails at my local college and gained a certificate in artificial nail techniques. In this I trained in acrylic. I was OK in this but since qualifying I have discovered I prefer gel. I bought a small tester gel kit and discovered that I'm actually better at gel than acrylic. Even though I haven't been trained in gels i was wondering if I could advertise myself doing gels??

I'm not where you are from, but I would ask your licensing board if you have to have licensure for performing gel enhancements. If you don't have to have a specific license for it, then of course I would advertise it!

Well hear on the isle of wight we don't have licensing (wish we did) how ever I belive as a matter of insurance and good professional conduct you shouldn't offer gel nails to your clients with out some formal training first ,

It is good to have a trial kit but knowledge is power honey , if you don't understand the chemistry behind a U.V gel then how can you answer you're clients questions ?(and they will have questions ) How can you know your aplication is right ? It might seem easyer than L&P (acrylic ) but you will find you get servis brake down and issues ,
(Out of interest what is it that you'r not liking with L&P?)

hear on the island we do have a few ......ISSUES! (that I cant go into hear) And you are quite likely to find you have more clients wanting and asking for L&P than for gel ....that said it is a good idea for you to learn gel , don't try to cut corners you will make more work for your self,

Call S2 for info on training with Brisa they have a place in bourmouth now (I'd be happy to come with you ) ,
or call the collage and ask about gel classes, you may have to waite but I belive that if enough do ask then they will set something up,
