hi guys, I was chattin to my friend in Norwich who recently has a set a acrylics done but she said her nail tech put a layer of gel over the acrylic when she was done to help strengthen the acrylic. now, I've never heard of this before being new
and I couldn't find any threads on SG about it ... has anyone heard if this or does anyone do it? and what are the benefits? I'm intrigued :)

Hi sounds like a uv gel top coat like NSI's glaze n go. Benefits over acrylic is that it make them waterproof and gives a great high shine. Hope this helps. X

And it saves loads of buffing too :)

Hello

I like to do this as it gives the nails a watertight seal and they look so shiny! Like the previous post states it does prevent lots of buffing.

Now I have switched to NSI I use glaze & go but reviously I coated with normal gel. It is especially good for nail biters as the glossy finish makes it harder for them to nibble away at the acrylic x

This is great thanks guys! I'll give it a go x
