Hi all,
Im really getting dis heartened at the moment with my UV gel nails. I have practiced loads and every time they come off within a day or so!! its really stressing me out. I'm also going on the bio sculpture course next month, and im a bit worried the same thing will happen with them! Has anyone been on the b/s course that can let me know what its like? Thanks Katie

what gel are you currently using....? if its all coming off within days then it was never really on in the first place and that leads me to think the problem lies with your prep. x

Incomplete Prep or wrong brush technique can both cause a weak or lack of a good bond on that very first layer.

You can't just use your first layer of gel like polish and brush it on as light as a feather!! Even though many companies do lead you to believe that it is as easy as that .. it is not.

The first layer of gel needs to be 'worked' onto the nail surface very thoroughly and very meticulously to get a good grab onto the well prepared and DRY nail plate.

You need a firm pressure with your brush and it can be done in a variety of ways ALL of which work well:
I have seen people do it with a continual patting and brushing technique and
I have seen people 'criss cross' the gel onto the nail before smoothing it out (like painting a wall with emulsion)
I have seen people 'push' and 'pull' the gel onto the surface and
I have seen people literally 'scrub' the gel onto the surface with little circular strokes before smoothing.

One thing I do know, you can't just gently paint the gel on like polish and expect it to stick to the plate. Good luck

Thanks for all your help, will let you know how I get on! Has anyone been on the biosculpture course, im going on the 14th Dec? x
