Gel nails query

Hi. I have never had gel nails but am considering having them done for my holiday. Can anyone tell me if, as part of the maintenance, you have to infill gel nails or are they removed and reapplied instead? I am concerned that the condition of my nails does not get damaged.

all types of artificial nail stystems can be maintained by an experienced technician, there is rarely a need to remove and reapply them if your maintenance visits are timely.

it is generally only inexperienced techs who remove a set of nails because they do not know how to replace the french tip correctly with white product because it is quite difficult to do.
