Hi

I currently do only nail art and have been asked if i can use soak off gels to maintain the life of the art. I have done some research and I feel soak off is a better option for me. Could I ask for some advise as to whether I.

A: do nail art as normal and then apply only a soak off UV topcoat

or

B: Invest in a soak of base, colours and top coat?

All help greatly appreciated and if so which systems / brands would people recommend.

Cheers Chrissy :)

I would invest in the sog system. Gel will stick to gel better. You can use regular acrylic paints to do the art if you do not cover the entire nail. That way when you put on the top coat it is effectively encasing the art on all sides by getting gel to gel contact.

it depends on the surface.
Do you do nail art on buffed acrylic? polish?natural nails?(gel?)
What do you use to do nail art?

nail art on matural nails with polish and acrylic paint

Polished nails and gel top coat don't go well together.
You can (tell your clients to) apply normal top coat every 3-4 days, polish and the art should last longer.

I think that would be a good idea to invest on soak off gel, as you said.
You can still paint on the sticky surface of the base colour gel with acryl paint and seal with top coat gel.

hth xx
