i posted a thread a few days ago about a clients nails i did using nsi gel with clear tips and glitter.my client said after that the tips were breaking away under the gel but the gel was still fine so it was as if i had sculpted them if that makes sense.
anyway i came to the conclusion that i think the sanitiser reacted with the clear tips and caused this so i replaced her nails free of charge using cnd performance tips this time.i have used these on my own nails and applied the product in the exact same way as my own nails and yet my client has now txt me saying
'' The tips have come away from the gel and some of the gel has snapped of this time so i have filed them down as i havent got time to keep having them re-done''.
i havent seen them yet but i cant understand why mine havent done the same thing if it was somthing that i did wrong as ive had mine on for months so that most of mine are my own nails now.
i just wondered what you geeks thought about this and do you think its my fault or hers?
ive already replaced them all once i really dont know what to do .

Very strange, I use nsi gel and I have used the clear tips and natural, and not had a problem with either when using glitter, if you are doing the same thing on your client as you are doing on yourself, then I would look at your clients lifestyle, job, family, etc.

thanks for your reply, this is what i thought too.she is a nail biter but not an extreme one.
i just cant understand why she said this is happening to hers so i dont know if i should give her,her money back? even though i did remove the 1st set and replace them with a new set

I wouldnt offer her her money back chick, you have already done a set for free, how long after you did her nails was it before the problems started the first and second time ?

it was nearly 2 days.
ive had other clients that just have a nno and the gel is still fine with no lifting when they come back to me 4 weeks later.thats why i also thought that if it was my gel application wouldnt they have problems with theres still even though they havent got false tips?
i have phoned nsi and im waiting for a technician to phone me back.

Well the only thing I can think of, is if the glitter mix had to much glitter in it and made it to brittle. But that doesnt seem to have been the problem with the first set. And if she has filed them down you wont be able to see what was wrong will you, which is a pity. but I still wouldnt offer her her money back hun ..xx

Were they NSI Clear tips? If they were then I would say she's got to be picking the tip as those tips are impossible to break other than where they are adhered to the nail and from the way i've read your initial post I am thinking the tip has come away under the gel but left the gel intact????

I dont think NSI tips react to sanitise either, they are acetone resistant.

thanks for your reply rachel.x
no they werent nsi tips and yes the tips had cracked underneath so i think that she had picked at them to get the broken bits off but the gel had stayed intact and was fine.
this was when i replaced them all and i then used cnd performance tips with no sanatiser which i have used on myself and which have been fine for me with no problems but she is now saying that the tip has come away from the gel and the gel has broken so i have no idea whats going on as i cant see why this has happened to her and not me?xx
