They are not really for salon use IMO. They are only for natural nails and no good for enhancements. I retail them only.

I don't like them for salon use either. They have a very soft grit, making them good for natural nail touch ups.

I retails these around my local area at events and the research I have done about price diference relates to how they are made and the quality, I am aware of a few out there that are made with glass chippings stuck onto glass which will eventually wear down, the dearer ones tend to go through a special process which makes the filing surface integrated into the main part and made with toughened glass, mine are also decorated with Swarovski Crystals.

Hope that helps I have put a picture of my files in my photos to give you an idea of the Swarovski design you may see out there

I agree with geeg.
They actually feel really uncomfortable when you file artificial enhancements with it... it's feels like you're scratching a chalk board.

They're nice for quick touchups though. I carry one around just incase I break a nail.

Totally agree that they are pretty useless on nail enhancements better on natural nails.

i use a glass file on natural nails.... then again im only a manicurist, so don't know about enhancements.

i find mine quite handy as it files nicely, leaves a lovely finish, if it accidentally comes into contact with skin when im filing the grit doesn't hurt the client (im not saying i file their skin but i am human and do have the occasional slip)

im thinking about retailing them as clients are always saying how lovely it is/ looks. but mine was about £7 so id recommend a decent quality glass file, nothing cheap that wont last too long or break!

I use them for natural nails only also. I also like the look but they file smoother IMO.

I retail them to clients for their natural nails and they love them.

I do not use glass files in the salon professionally.

I don't find them any smoother or better for natural nails than a 240 or 1200 finishing side of the normal buffers I use. I see glass files a purely a nice retail item.

One slip in a salon here in Spain and the file is history on a tiled or wooden floor and in a thousand shards of glass.
