Somebody please help before I go mad  .

I have just completed a course with Nsi and am having big problems with gel cracking at rebalance stage.

I have tried everything, plus done everything to the letter, watched the DVD a thousand times (well maybe a slight exageration) without success!!

I have spoken with my educator and have done some trouble shooting by phone...tried everything that she has suggested and low and behold stilll getting cracks!!!! I am fast loosing confidence and feel like giving up. This doesn't happen on first application just the following ones.

A very disgruntled Deborah X

Hi Deb, dont lose heart we all have problems at least you can use this site for support and help.

Can you give a little more detail tho. Rebalancing tips, overlays etc, how old is the set and is it after you have filed to shape or ??? take us through step by step and with the educaters info. It sounds like it could be to do with the curing of the original nails gel but with out the full picture I cant say.

Main reasons for cracking in gel are:-
Sidewalls have not been reinforced.
Gel not applied thickly enough, especially at the stress area.

Breaking nails:-
If there is not enough gel in stress area use the Draping/ Stringing method to build up this area, you should be able to see the gel build up in this area as it levels

If the nail is breaking where the tip is glued on it could be because there is primer on the tip........
:)
Hope i helped you in some way

Thanks for your input girls and Debbie I love the cute Dog! I found out what is causing the cracking it's the bloody Glaze n Go!!! Never happened until I started using it, have used finish clear today and no probs... Glaze n Go was developed for use over acrylic but can be used on Gel but it does sometimes crack I was told today by my educator this afternoon, I am sorry she didn't mention this before I spent £16 on a bottle...will save it for when I do Acrylics eventually. One problem solved but I am sure I will be back here alot... Deborah XX

hi Deb, I have used glaze n go and had the same prob. Thats why I asked for more detail lol if you mentioned the whole procedure I would have had an answer for you. I do use it over gel on toes and it is fine there if not too thick. At least you know it is not something you did and its just the product so no confidence lost :) glad you got it sorted.

Yep my little Westie is a bundle of fun, thanks. There are more in the Westie Group have a look.
