i'm considering renting a nail desk, but since im not so confident with gel/acrylic nails i would just offer hand and feet treatments.
other than standard and luxury mani's/pedi's what else can i put on the treatment menu?
it will be a new business venture so will need an extra something to set us aside from the competition.
And do you think it's silly not to do gel etc?
any advice welcome xxxx

How about a paraffin wax?

why dont you offer gel toes, they relatively easy to do and quick and it will get you back into using your gel. You may then start to feel more confident . Also you could do a conversion course with another company like youngs, CND, EzFlow.

Why not offer enhancements anyway, the best way to gain confidence is to practice and what better way to practice than in industry. I'm sure most geeks felt this way at the start, but in at the deep end is sometimes the best way. I'm sure you'll get over initial nerves after the first few clients. You could always explain that you are relatively new to enhancements and price accordingly (I personally wouldnt do this as it could make it harder in the future when you want to up your prices). I would definately recommend further training as suggested, perhaps a skill building or one to one class so that you can focus on areas you are least confident with. Just a thought.

hiya
How about an introductary price on nail enhancements as opposed to newly qualified/not confident price? This will give you the oppertunity to gain some confidence.I think ppl, these days, expect a nail tech to be able to offer these.
I noticed your a hair and skin geek aswell so what about adding eye tratments such as waxing/shaping lash perming and brow and lash tints to your menu.
Also offer different types of manis and pedis from basic to luxery.
Good luck on our new venture

I agree, I would definately offer Gel/L&P because if you put it off "for now" you will start to dread doing them at all. Introductory offer like Del say's sounds like a good idea

Yeah, if you are gonna do it a smaller charge better to say introductory offer as opposed to new tech cos that could put some people off.

Hi, I am the same as you. Im qualified in Manicures and Pedicures, but I am still training in Acrylic and Gel. However, I still offer these. I do get really nervous when Im doing a full set or infills, because I know its proberly not as good a job as they would get up the road for instance! But, they are getting it cheap, they know I am only training and the only way for me to get it right is to practise! And I do more extensions than I do manicures and pedicures, its very popular. Hth xx
