Reading Dee's blog about using a hot water bottle made me smile, I suspect we all use things that are not made for professional use but do the job beautifully.
I use a microwavable hot water bottle (looks a bit like a fat frisbee) I heat it then wrap it in foil to hide the rubber. I don't have heated mitts and just use the towelling ones and the hot water bottle is perfect for them to place the mitts on.
I use a slow cooker, place an aluminium foil tray (takeaway container )upside down in it, put some water in the bottom and put rolled up damp flannels in it for manis and pedis and after a nail service - thermostatic so can go all day, just add more rolled flannels.
My pickle jar with a hole punched through the lid has a small candle holder in the bottom filled with monomer. I suspend my L&P brush using a peg to keep it from touching the bottom - Ideal for me as I don't use L&P every day and brushes would keep drying out. When a client comes I just move it out of my room and put the brush in a case.
I use a paper waxing strip when working with gel, it is brilliant for wiping your brush on and is absolutely fibre free.
I use my infra red lamp when using CND heat dry topcoat - the fastest drying combination for polish ever.
These are not all my own ideas, I have picked up a lot of tips from others on here but use these all the time.
Anyone else got some to share ???
