Hi,
I've got a hair and beauty salon, and whilst the hair side has taken off wonderfully, the beauty is still struggling to pick up. We've got about 5 regulars for nail extensions, loads of regulars for eyebrow waxes and spray tans but nothing spectacular. My BT is only working 2 days this week, on Fri she has one eyebrow wax booked in, and on Sat she has a half leg, underarm and bikini line booked, and then a Back, Neck and Shoulder massage in too. Most weeks she makes enough just to cover her wages, and on the days she doesn't, she is a brilliant help for me as I don't have a full time junior yet. Every month, we seem to do some kind of promotion for the beauty side of things...but it doesn't seem to do much. This month we are doing "buy one get one half price" where, after any treatment, they get a voucher for a half price treatment before the end of March. It doesn't seem to be getting any new clients in though? I am going to start up a recommend a friend scheme next month.
What should I do? I know there is no quick fix to getting busy but its so frustrating that I can have 10-15 people booked for hair and she can only have one eyebrow wax? I'm worried constantly doing promotions are going to make it look like she's rubbish.
We did promo flyers with all our info on, an emphasis on the beauty side, and all we've had is people using the discount part of them for hair.:cry::cry::cry:
Any advice? x
