Dear all,

about kits supplied, what is the quality of scissors you are supplied with, any approximate ideas about their market price?

Is it okay to work with a basic pair or do u think spending a little extra at a student leve on decent pairl can help me in anyway- improve my posture/ my hair-cutting experience?

Has there ever been an emphasis in your hairdressing career over the importance of 'getting educated' about the kind scissors you should use? I feel if i am a little educated about it from my early years, it‘ll help me understand scissors in a better way ad guide my purchase decions after looking at the best available choices plus the health and safety risks. (RSI syndrome!!!)

Do hairstylists or other such experts visit your college to exhibit additional hairstyling tips and cutting methods/tools.How keen are you on attending such seminars?

Have you ever, in your student life, thought over the kind of scissors you'd invest on, after graduating? Would you invest on an expensive pair?

What is the price range that can fetch me a good pair of scissors, which helps me slice through as well as texturise hair in a better way? Considering the price ranges I could research through, do we know of any brand that offers a trial period/installment facility to pay up for the scissors?

Can I also, as a starter have an idea about the best brands of scissors that as students of hairdressing you have always aspired for?

Whom can I consult before buying a pair, who influenced your decision?

What are/were the critieria that influenced your decisions- is it the price/ servicing (guarantee)/ quality or the scissor's aesthetic appeal or perhaps the scissor's brand reputation?
How do you go about buying/collecting information about scissors????(Do you go online or to some specialist shops etc.)
I know, i have just asked too many questions...please help...I‘d be really thankful!
Thanks again, :)!!!

I would get used to basic cutting techniques before you worry too much about scissors. I would think what is in you kit are OK, but bottom end of the market cost wise.

When you start cutting some people are a bit kack handed and will drop scissors and combs etc and you wouldn't want to do this with a 70 80 90 pound pair of scissors !

After a while go into a wholesalers and have a feel of the weights and the lengths of the different scissors, you may find jowells feel right maybe jaguar feel right etc hth x

I am beginning to feel like all these scissor questions are market research for a new up and coming company,
am i the only one ?

I know I have seen so many scissor questions on here lately too :)

I think Johnny Depp is making a new Edward Scissorhands movie

Hey everyone,
:)
Thanks you very much for all the advice you could provide me with.
hehe...the kind of conclusions everyone is coming up with for the scissor questions are also quite amusing:green:!!!

Really extremely helpful... :)

Cheers...
xx
