I'm hopefully going to become a mobile nail technician and beautician...a few people (some fellow geeks!) have suggested that i do a business course to help me with things like budgeting and other financial responsibilities.
If anyone has done one in the UK i'd really appreciate knowing where they did it, the duration etc etc.

Hope to hear from you soon

Not been on any personally but I know Business Link offer lots of free courses, so that might be a good starting block!

I also forgot to say I joined my local women in business network and I always get e-mails about workshops (mostly all free) about running your business.

I am still in training myself at the moment so I am only working on paying 'models' at the moment so the only bit of valuable advice I can give you is you need to be dedicated and put in a lot of hard work. I went to uni (near to you actually - Huddersfield!) and some parts of my beauty course were much harder than my Degree.

As long as you are willing to put in the hard work (which you seem to be) then you will be sucessful. Good Luck

Thank you so much, i definitely am determined to prove to others that i am capable of being successful, with or without uni...as well of course prove to myself that i can do it! If you really want something then it takes time and effort and i'm certainly motivated for both.
Do you work another job alongside your training?

have pm'd you xx

I have a diploma in Self-Employment, and although I probably could have discovered all the information I needed, eventually, this course was the best schooling I have ever completed in my life.

I strongly suggest it. It's a huge confidence boost when you 'know' what you are doing as opposed to trial and error, which can leaved you feeling quite bummed sometimes.

Just starting out there are lots of things that you may not consider, taking a course or having a mentor is one way to get your self prepared for all possible outcomes.

Good luck to you!
