Hi everyone,

This is my first post so bear with me as I am not technically minded!

I have just set up as a mobile nail technician. I have placed an advert in a local advertising magazine, sent out flyers, got a website etc, but nothing seems to be happening. Has anyone got any ideas on how to get started please.:cry:I have spent a lot a money on getting my stock in, training courses etc and I need to recoup some of the money!

Hope to hear from you.

helloooooo and welcome.

ummmm, xcuse my ignorance, but Prudhoe is Durham way? Yes! sorry, am not originally from the North East.

this is the big thing on everyones mind, lets face it, everyone WANTS to have a treatment but not everyone can afford it.

Its just a matter of pushing your heels in and going for it, and trying and trying and trying.

I remember when I first started out, I paid for a month of adverts in the Durham Advertiser and thought I was going to be rolling in enquiries....I got 2!

Thank you. Yes I was expecting the phone to be constantly ringing!

Well I shall just keep trying. It is just hard not to feel a bit disheartened.x

just keep coming on and sharing and reading what everyone else is going thru

I will, thank you.

It is hard to get started, the best thing with flyers is to do a different area each week and go back to the first area 3 or 4 weeks later, that way they start to remember you. Also have a chat with your hair dresser, see if you can put some cards up on their reception desk. Brides shops are another good one and notice boards at play groups, gyms and church halls. Also supported elderly housing, you'd have to clear that with the warden but the elderly love to have a pamper and a chat. Net mum's will let you put a note on their on line notice board and by now I hope you've thought of some others as idea's often spark each other of:hug:

That has been a great help. Will give them all a go! Will let you know how I get on.:)

Always feel with nails, word of mouth is good. Can you maybe offer friends or family a free set with the promise that they'll absolutely rave about you.

Anyone that works in a busy place say your hairdresser, girl on the checkout etc would be a good bet.

Good luck and keep trying.

xx
