Am very new to gel nails have started with bio scilpture as had them done on self with fab lasting results, 2 of the people i practiced on the nails have lifted, dont know what i am doing wrong as they looked great when first done:cry:

have you completed the bio sculpture training ?

Hi, Yes have done the training, am now practicing for the up and comming exam, i wondered if i am applying the first layer too thin??

no, the first layer must be thin.

soak off gels last best on people with good strong nails. the thinner and bendier they are, the more of a challenge they become.

2 things i would recommend.
apply gel to 1 or 2 nails at a time so that the gel doesnt have a chance to shrink off the end of the nail before its cured into place.
and/or build the apex of the nail so that the nail can flex less and it will it should cut down on the problem.

Hi, Thanks for that will take advice and keap trying!!:)

Have a look at the previous threads and discussions on the bio sculpture group page:

There are quite a few newbies who have had similar issues on there so the existing threads will help guide you in the right direction.

Lifting is usaully down to inadequate nail preparation in my opinion!
