Hi

Can anyone help me with my physlology assignment? I need to descibe the characteristics of nail shapes, and I am stuck on fan and narrow,as these are not covered in the text book. Thank you :biggrin:xxxxx

Fan would be narrow at the base and wide at the free edge...envision a hand fan.
Narrow would be just that...narrow from base to free edge.

ha ha use your imagination, a fanning nail looks wide at the tip as if its narrow at the bottom and wide at the tip creating a triangular fanning shape, and i imagine a narrow nail would mean that its narrower than the nail bed so would create an uneven balance in the stress/apex line and too small for the nail either way any or these would mean that the nail would not present the correct structure so there for wouldn last very long in strength, hth hehe...its hard to describe x

Thank you. You have been a great help  xxxxxxxxxx
