hi everyone i just wondered how fellow geeks cleaned there roller heads after each client?
also after my last client there seems to hae been a huge explosion (of chocolate wax) it is all over my machine and wondered what clever ideas you may have come up with for cleaning. im using the wax remover/cleaning with cotton wool which is just making me sticky and more mess

Hi,
I'm not sure about the roller heads as I'm a pot and spatula girl myself, but I've found oil to be an excellent cleaner of wax.

i either use the hive equipment cleaner or surgical spirit hun.

I have the Clean + Easy roller wax system which i think is similar. I clean the heater itself with wax equipment cleaner (cheapest i can find) on very cheap wax removal strips (cheapest fabric ones i can find, just for this purpose) rather than cotton wool to avoid the fluff issue.

To clean the heads, i follow advice given by a few people on here:

remove the roller head whilst still warm and roll it over the couch roll you've probably just discarded to remove excess wax.

Then get a pot with a lid and put the heads in, upside down and pour in wax equipment cleaner to just cover the tops of the rollers.

Leave for a while and if there is any wax still on, use a nailbrush with a little wax equipment cleaner on to scrub it off. Most of it will have simply soaked off.

Wash the heads in antibacterial soap and water then air dry, stood on a tissue.

May sound complicated but it's really simple and effective.

Not sure if you are already doing this, but clean it while it's still warm

I had this problem too and followed the advice you've been given which is great. I also got some dental sticks which are tiny long brushes which can go down between roller and the side, do this when soaking in wax cleaner. I have to say though, that after thinking the roller system was fab, I seem to be going back to the pot and spatula as it is less messy.
