Hi all

Just recieved my minx starter kit, i am a qualified bio sculpture nail technician and just wondered if there are any other bio technicians who have have experience incorporating the minx into gel overlays to help strengthen the nail. As my clients who have weak nails won't have Bio Sculpture taken off but want minx. If so how are you doing it and how many layers of gel are you using??? Also is anyone putting clear on first before the minx?.
Was going to try it next week but if anyone has any advice that would be great xxx:)

Minx is made to sit on top of the nail overlay. Some have tried using a top coat gel with some success but it really is a case of try it and see.

If you have a willing client then I say, go for it and then tell us! :green:

As I always say, Minx is new .. it is you technicians who will push the boundaries and try out things first with Minx. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work and with a willing client, this is not a problem to remove and replace if it doesn't.

I've played around this a bit on my own nails, and to be fair, I wouldn't be happy enough with the results to put a full Minx covering on the nail, and then top with gel. I suffered Free edge seperation, which interestingly, I don't really suffer too much with either product individually, but together was a problem. You can also only really do a nail at a time as it seem to pull back very quickly leaving bare spots.

You can get quite good effects using 'left-over' bits of minx in the gel for a nail art effect eg french or design, but you need that gel gripping the free edge, or you get seperation.

Minx however works very well as the final covering on top of Bio Sculpture, and lasts longer like this than on the natural nail.
