Just ordered my individual client packs after finally finding the perfect ones. However, the website listed that they are in resealable bags. I doubt the sturdiness of these bags and want to switch to the plastic cases.

Anyone know where I can find them without having to buy 1000 at a time?

Thanks!

hi no idea about the bags bot can you tell me where the client packs are from ?? :)

Forgive my ignorance, but what are client packs? :o

Premier Nail Source, The Nail Tech's Best Friend

Client packs are packs that contain items such as files, manicures brushes, buffers, etc. that are used for 1 client only. You put their name on the box (or bag) so that client only uses those implements, helps prvents cross-contaimination.

Oh how fab. That's a great idea. Would you charge them more for their first initial treatment to get the money back for the client packs?

Sounds a lot of faffing around to me buying all these items for every client, then shoving them all in a bag with a name on it!

Imagine all the files, buffers, nippers, cuticle pushers etc you would have to buy damn lol

what happened to good all disenfectant

LMFAO. (sorry for laughing, but I could just hear Geeg then ) ..

Very true, but then again, I would imagine it would make the client feel very "special" and looks more professional.

I'd like to hear Geegs thoughts on this topic  (oh I do miss not having Geeg on here)

I am very cautious about my disenfecting but as LOU LOU said, its more professional. The packs I bought for $1.00 already have files and buffers in them. The metal implements, I disenfect several times over but if they want their own, they can bring them to me or I'll get them and just charge them what I paid. I was going through files like CRAZY and I thought this was a good idea. I paid a very small price for each client pack so I'm not going to charge them.

Also, I have a lot of competition around me with the NSS salons around here. It doesn't help that the fact my boss refers customers there if I'm not present to do nails. So by doing this, I hope it shows that I'm more "clean" and I care more about the customers and that I value them more by making them feel "special".

and Lou, who is this "Geeg" person you're referring to?

ooohhhh who's Geeg, well she's one of the most experienced and talented nailtechs on here, retired now from a long and very very successful career as a nailtech, salonowner, educator well you name it. Her real name is Gigi Rouse and advise from her is gold...

I have chosen not to have individual client packs for several reasons:

1. quality of the items, you get what you pay for and my bet is they wont last as long, and you wont be able to sanitise/disinfetct them, which should be done eventhough they are for one client only. That way you end up buying and buying... Besides you cannot beat the performance of quality files...

2. storage. I just started my salon up a new place a few months ago, but already I have around 50 clients, where should I put 50 boxes, and I'm not even near fully booked. When I worked at a salon we had well about 500 names (at least) in our client records, some regulars and some not, but to store 500 boxes, and having to find each clients box, that's time consuming and space consuming. And for how long would you store???

I don't think it's more professional, I believe that good hygiene, washable quality files, and sterilizing implements is more professional. We are not performing surgery, so good hygiene should be efficient enough to prevent anything from spreading. If I have someone with a greenie (which has happened maybe once or twice in my wee career) I bin the files and I have never passed anything on...

Geeg is absolutely FANTASTIC. I've only been on the board a few weeks but she just blows me away! Put it like this, if Geeg doesn't know an answer to a question then it's not worth knowing. She doesn't mince her words and she says it as it is, but that's what I like so much about her. She just inspires me and i'm extremely fond of her. She's away at the moment and I just miss her posts so much cos I am learning so much from her. She's my mentor and inspiration to succeed! (Anyway, i'm going to shut up now cos she will be smacking my hands for going off topic :smack:)

Quicky going back to the topic ............. I can understand what Salpep means though regarding having a lot of bags everywhere. I work from home in my spare bedroom and not sure I would have the room to store 10 client packs, never mind 110. I do think it sounds like a fab idea though in theory. However, each to their own and if this method suits you then stick with it. The other thing which i've been taught is that we should sanitise our files, buffers etc everytime we start to use them on a different client, so maybe just spray some sanitizer spray on them whilst the client is sat in front of you.

xx

NoLimitNails- You do make some good points. I will def take those points into consideration.

I spray everything down withe NAS 99 by opi, what do you use?

I use Clori spray or the Mundo file spray, after I have used a nailbrush on my files. I use the Mundo wipes on my table and lamps, and my implements in the 5 minute disinfectant from Mundo (wish I could remember the name now) I use fresh towels for each client (not disposable, I just wash them, I always manage to wreck the disposable ones in minutes LOL) oh and start every service with the cool blue from CND.

I believe this is good enough, however as said, if I see a greenie or anything I'm not sure of I bin the files, and if I nick someone with the file (and that's really really rare) I give them the file, as I wouldn't wanna use it one somebody else with blood on it.

I have never heard of any of those. I will look around though and see if I can find them.

I put all my clients files in small sandwich bags with their names on .... I write their names on the back of a card I have done this for many years ... All my clients love this and are very happy. The metal things cuticle nippers etc i disenfect xx

I'm excited to try it.

It is against the law in my state to use "client packs"--plastic is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria if anything is still damp when placed in the box/bag and then sealed. And, unless the file is metal or glass they are all single use only in my state--no using NAS 99 to disinfect anything! It has to be submerged in a hospital grade disinfectant for a minimum of 10 minutes after having been scrubbed with a brush in warm soapy water. Clients are also not allowed to bring in their own implements because even though they belong to the client, if they have not disinfected them properly and get an infection from their own tools--YOU are still liable for it!

What state are you in?

This is what I do, I buy small sandwich bags from the supermarket, write their names on the bag and file them in order in a plastic box. I do also use disinfectant on them. And agree it is alot of faffing about, but the clients love it and it does make them feel special. Most then comment on other nail 'bars' they have been to in the past that don't even disinfect between clients, I just tell them that's what makes proper professional tech's is the disinfectant and health and safety. I use NSI files and although it is an outlay at first they outlive any other files I have used in the past. All other equipment goes into barbcide. But we all have our different ways.

We do whatever works for us. I just got my client packs in the mail today. They didn't even take that long to get here. The reusable bags arent as bad as I thought they were going to be. They seem pretty sturdy. They'll def be around a while. I didn't open any of the files yet, I rather do that in front of the client and see how they work that way, but the manicure brushes seem pretty nice. They're nice and soft and not nylon-ly like some of them are. I'm pretty excited!
