Right, I'm only just starting to build up my confidence with the nails. I did a set of gels yesterday and the lady wants me to do her infills in a couple of weeks which I am already panicking about. What I did, is a lock in layer using NSI builder blush, with opal shimmer in it. Then POW and then built up the apex with the blush gel only (no shimmer), finally glaze and go. Can someone please talk me through exactly how i do the infills -do I just put blush gel with shimmer on the new nail growth, and pull it all over the nail? Do I then need to do another layer of blush only?

Thanks

are you insure of inflls all together or is it just because of you using the opal shimmer in the gel? because you would still an infill in the usual way.x

I'm not very confident with infills anyway and really need to do some specific 1 to 1 training with it I think as I don't really know how many layers of gel to do. And the fact there's opal shimmer in it has really thrown me!

to make it easier next time....do all your builder layers first...then use your coloured gels...glimmers etc....that way when it comes to rebalances you just file off the top layers of gel (shimmers/colours) and it leaves your builder layers underneath.

So you start with your basics and file back down to your basics....always do your fancy stuff last. HTH x

oh ok, yes I'll do it that way next time. So I would do my lock in layer (no shimmer), then my builder for the apex (no shimmer), then another thin layer with shimmer, then glaze and go, is that right?

yeah do your lock layer (I'm presuming thats the same as a bonder layer...base layer...the first thin layer right after prep) then your builder layer/s....(i do mine in 2-3 layers to prevent any heat spike)...then your shimmer...then white...at this point i use a clear gel to cap the white....then i wipe and buff to shape...(this gets rid of any lumps/bumps and lips where the white has been applied)....then clean and top gloss.

it sounds like alot of layers but when its re balance time...you only replace what you have filled off....so the builder layers will be less...and all other layers thin.
