im a little stuck on how to do infills with akzentz soal off gel. I use base and gloss as my basecoat and top coat but if your doing an infill do you put base and gloss over the entire nail and then the normal 2 coats of colour followed by base and gloss again as top coat? and do you file over the entire nail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Personally I wouldnt do an infill with the options gel - especially if it is colour. I would so off and re-do. A soak off should be really quick and probably as quick as doing an infill anyway.

If you have to do an infill then I would buff any shine off, base n gloss on re-growth area only and drag the brush over the existing product. Use colour as much as possible on the re-growth too and drag the brush over the previous enhancement. Than base n gloss over the whole.

Softer gels like options are very difficult to buff down so you have to be careful that your enhancement doesnt look too thick after a full set then an infill on top if that makes sense.

Thanks for that. I only use them as a natural nail overlay and have told clients that they need soaked off and a new colour applied but i've got one insisting on having them infilled :( grr. Also what is best to soak off with? I soaked my sister's off yesterday using acetone and one hand came off fine and the other wouldn't budge!

Make sure you buff the gel down before doing the soak off which makes a big difference.

Your usual acetone based remover should work just fine.

What soak off method do you use?
