I use to have a beauty salon and trained with fantasy tan. I now have a home beauty room and wish to offer spray tanning. Do I have to retrain to be able to get insurance? Or can I just buy a kit? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you have your certificate then you will not need to retrain. If you don't have your certificate then you could try to get a copy of it from the people that trained you but if that fails then I would say yes retrain as the insurance company will need to see proof of your qualification (either when you join or if you ever had to make a claim).
