As Im going to be practising on "volunteers" and probably only going to charge for petrol and materials would getting the client to sign a Record Card enable me to practice without being insured as it may go belly up and I dont want to pay for a years insurance.

Would the Record Card cover me if a client had a reaction or I spilt something in their home??????????

Why dont you get some training insurance...Its not very expensive but why wouldnt you want to pay a years insurance, you will need it.

Your insurance would require that you keep record cards for any treatments carried out, client cards do not cover you without insurance.

I personally wouldnt carry out any procedures without any insurance, training or qualified.

Hi
No they wouldn't. Record cards are for you to list details on your clients ie. name address etc medical history, condition of the hands and nails and tretment (plan) etc

If you are in training there are insurance companies who will insure you as a student working under supervision like Beauty Guild. HTH

I completed my training in 2004 but only did it mobile on and off till my day job took over my time. I am now asking for people to practice on as I will prob be rusty, if I do get back into it I will then of course have no problem in getting the full insurance I need and I would not charge a full rate etc without having it. So im really just practising until my confidence is back to what it was.

I think I will do a google on some insurance sites

Thanks for your help xx

BABTAC training insurance was less than 20.00 only a couple of months ago HTH

I looked into insurance for students with Beauty Guild - £39 for the year. At £3 and some change a month it would be so worth it in the long run. I'm going to do it as soon as I start practicing outside college :)

If you are going to be working on the GP then you need insurance, it will cost you a lot more in the long run if something goes wrong. ABT and Professional Beauty are around the £30 mark.

Your right, Your all right!! I WILL get insurance or I wont get to sleep at night!! This sight is amazing, thank you

Every tech needs her sleep :)

BABTAC are £29 for students now but they are giving first year after qualification half price. Sounds good!
