I have to say that I was fairly disturbed by some of these comments too

As in, I found the suggestions about being mentally slow and unhealthy peculiar...at least you took it with humour Jemma! X x x

Mhmm very strange!!! We're taking about doing a French polish!

I have to clarify that I did not read ops post. I just read the title, "op can't draw French" so I assumed she was a nail tech and went full blown at it lol.

It all makes sense now because she's not a NT. That said, my mentioning of mental health and drugs seems to be misinterpreted. Originally, it was meant to denote a general reason for why someone may aquire a skill slowly or not at all even through many practice sessions.

But to save a little face, hehe, why would someone complain about not being able to draw French especially when their job rarely calls for it. It's like me asking someone if I should learn how to swim, but I live in the desert.

If you are not comfortable doing a French then don't offer it , maybe just practice on friends until you are confident. You will only build yourself up with anxiety and stress . I have been qualified 3 years and only been asked twice for a French . If I was asked to do a French now I probably wouldn't do it because I am out of practice. I am still considered a professional and have clients for gel polish and spa treatments. Enjoy what you do .

I wasn't just complaining ....I was asking a question (it's in the title). Although I'm rarely asked for french, I'm still asked! If I offer something on my treatment menu I want to offer the best service and quality, but wasn't sure if taking it off menu completely looked unprofessional as it is a basic skill.
I'm really glad I created the thread as there have been some helpful tips.

Actually, the title of the thread was "Is French Polish a must?" Not "Op. can't draw French" and she didn't say she couldn't do it at all, just that she doesn't feel she's as good at it as she would like to be. I have to say I find it rather odd that you went to the trouble of giving such a lengthy reply without even reading the whole post, especially as you admit you aren't very good at it yourself! The Op wasn't "complaining" at all, she was merely asking a valid question. As for your comments about mental health and drugs, how on earth is that relevant here?! It certainly did come across as if you were making assumptions, despite your latest post trying to justify your comments!

Imo, OP does NOT need to learn french. She's not a nail tech. If I were a message therapist, which is what op is, and someone were to ask me to draw french on their toes, I'd kick them in the face. Hiya!

For goodness sake please stop, you're making it worse

She isn't solely a nail tech but then one doesn't have to specialise in order to offer nails. She also does facials, but massage is what she does most of. Did you read the post at all in the end? Not very respectful when you expect us to read your multi-paragraph replies with photos!

I'm impressed that the OP has held off as much as she has, I've found your posts a tad offensive.
