I am new to nails so please be nice!

I started my Nail Technology Course last night to learn acrylics. I did my health and beauty diploma 10 years ago and seem to have just lost the confidence! I know its early days but last night I just seemed to not have the knack like most of the others in my class am I being stupid? Did you all know right at the beginning whether you had the skill or not?

Feeling bit low as was soooooo looking forward to beginning and learning this new skill!

 xxxx

Dont worry hun, stick at it and in time with practive the skill WILL come and ull love it.
Some learn quicker than others and some excel in the beginning an slow down slightly over time.
You will be fine, and in time you will wonder what you were fussing about.
Good luck and enjoy!!!
xx

For myself, yes, I did know. I knew before I picked up a brush that I would do a good job (eventually anyway).
However, you and other great techs may not necessarily have known beforehand as I did. A skill can be learned .. one is not necessarily born with it.

My advice to you is RELAX. Forget about what any others are doing or how well they are doing it. They may not be doing it well.

In my career as a teacher, I have seen many students who seemed to be doing well at the beginning but never ever go any further .. never grasp the subtleties of design or technique.

I have seen others who just didn't get it for ages ... suddenly switch on and go from strength to strength and become great technicians.

Relax and enjoy it and get a copy of my book 'nailclass'. It will help you allot with your techniques.
