Hey everyone- has anyone heard about a spray that you can use to cure gel nails instead of a UV lamp??? One of my clients mentioned it and i am intrigued... seems very odd though!
Any thoughts??:green:

What she is talking about is a jelly like EC adhesive resin that cures with an activator spray ... this is not the same as a UV cured gel. They call it gel which is confusing. It is just a thicker adhesive. Not a popular system.

the only thing i have heard of that you can use an activator in the form of a spray is for the fibreglass system.x
lucky gigi was on here to answer your question.x

Kits exactly like this one are popping up all over the place in department stores:

Everytime I try to use the 'contact us' form though (regarding this very product and it's fraudulent advertising), I can't seem to get a message through to these bozo's. Guess they don't want to hear complaints.

if ya actually click on the site for these and go to video demonstration it shows you to file the NATURAL nail BACK AND FORTH NOT in one direction, then it goes on later to 'remove shine' and they do it side to side not in direction of nail growth, as far as I'm concerned that just teaching people to screw up their nails it ridiculous.

disaster waiting to happen!!

If people are so stupid as to screw up their own nails by filing them in this way then I give up!!

This is nothing new peeps. The public have been able to buy kits to do their own nails for years and with the same type of prep advice. Don't sweat about it.

This is a completely different gel system called
lightless gel it is great for sealing in nail art, giving weak natural nails a bit more strength and even be used for extensions,
it comes in 2 parts the gel and an activator spray, a company that is huge in America called All season nails makes it.
I think it gives someone who does nail art the benefits of gel durability but with out all of the hard work and time that goes with gel nails.

This type of system is not strong at all and it is not a GEL so do not get confused.

It is a thick EC adhesive and activator ... pure and simple. It is like putting on a wrap without the strength or flexibility of the fibreglass or silk. You could do the same thing with any other wrap system ... just skip the fibre.

Adhesive breaks down in water eventually and also becomes brittle and tends to yellow as it ages. Just know what you are using peeps and then you can make your own decisions. But to call something a light less gel is misleading as it implies that the product is the same as any other gel (ie has the same properties and strength and longevity etc) but no UV required. Not true! In the case of EC Resin this is NOT true.

Same thing as the NSS who claim to use gel and in fact use Liquid and Powder and call it gel if that is what the customer wants to hear. It is misleading you.

I completely agree that this gel is not strong enough for full nails and even though the company i represent say it is i would only recomend to help protect natural nails and seal in nail art you could use for extensions if not needed to be very strong and be removed quite soon after but not for the long term.
