hey everyone.. im just wondering what gel you reckon is the best in the market. i am using esn at the minute and am finding it ok, but would like some recommendations. i would also like to know what kind of file you use for blending the tips, and or smoothing out the creases before applying finishing coat? or if you want you could talk me through your own personal tips for achieving perfect gel nails.. thanks in advance!

Im also using esn also- but im as curious as you and would like to know different gels and some steps to a nice set of nails!!

Hiya,

I dont think someone can really tell you which is the best gel, different systems work for different people, it depends what qualities you want, personally I use IBD buff off gels. My reasons are, they are strong, durable, easy to buff off, come in a great range of colours etc. But they are not great for natural nail overlays as they are not flexible enough in my opinion. I use a 120/180 file for blending and smoothing before gloss coat.

Hope that helps x

There's a tutorial on here about choosing the right gel system that might help you. Have a peek at the tutorials.

As far as "whats the best one" This is a bit like asking what's the best tv programme - opinions vary and there is not one definitve answer! It all depends on what you want out of your gel system. Personally, I use Brisa (Creative). It's a buff-off gel, and I like it's durability as I create tip & overlay enhancements out of my gel system, but I also like the fact that it's versatile enough to create strong and attractive enhancements, yet still be flexible enough to do natural nail overlays, hollywood toes etc. One other thing I like about Brisa is that you can custom blend with it, and their colours are the basic primarly colours so that you can pretty much create any colour you like

Have a look round the threads for some opinions and look at the tutorial, you should get some good info from that:green:

I also use Brisa gel and I love it. I have used and experienced a couple of other buff off gels and it is definitely the best IMO.

I find it as strong as L&P and as 'chelle has already said, with the colours, shimmers and coverage gels you can do anything you want HTH
