Hi,

Someone has suggested to me that I get a magnifying lamp for when doing the semi perm lash extensions. Was wondering which is best the big lamps that you can pull across or the little lamps you can wear on your head, like a miners lamp? Going to work from home initially, but sometime in the future may do mobile as well, but not anytime soon.

Thanx

Personaly, I cant work with a mag lamp, lol! Not sure why, but my eyes just wont adjust to it and I find it gives a false depth perception. On the recommendation of my trainer, I bought a cheap pair of the lowest mag reading glasses, and blooming good lighting. To be honest I rarelyuse the glasses as I find the light is enough. I only tend to use them if my eyes get realy tired.

thanks, I have to wear glasses anyway though and can't wear contacts. So would need to be either mag lamp or head lamp I think....

I don't do lash extensions BUT when we did facials at college, we used a mag lamp and the difficulty was that it can be pretty difficult to judge size and distance...not great if you're working on someones eyes tbh!

The lass who does my lashes has a head lamp.

Hi

I use my mag lamp as a light not for the magnifyer part - like the other lass mentioned, I also use the lowest grade reading glasses if I need extra help.

I have tried the head lamps, but find them annoying and not very clear to be honest.

See if you can try them both - if you have a local therapist near you using them, perhaps they will let you test them out - then decide which suits you best.

Good luck:hug:

At the salon I use a MAG lite for the lite only and I wear 2X diopter specs or just my 2.0 reading glasses. At home I use an 18w OTT light on a stand and it is da bomb! This is the best light you can ask for. It's very easy on the eyes.
