Hi all,

I am not sure if this is a blog or should remain on here due to what I saw. I was having coffee today at a well known Gym and a lady came up to me as she knew me thro a mutual friend. She had a very read and irritated eye on one side. She had had semi permanent lashes applied in such a way, I was shocked. I will not go into detail, but you can gather what I saw. I know that when I trained I was not allowed to be certified until I did so many cases (not all easy ones) and wrote them up how and why I did what I did. Why is it that this is allowed to happen, perhaps in my own way, I would never dream of doing a job if I thought it wasn't fit for purpose!, second to that getting it right is so important to our profession. I practised and practised, but never in the first place did I ever apply lashes in such a way to what I saw today. I do understand that as professionals we have a duty to our clients. I am so knocked sideways with this, that a technician thought that this was good work. I have today removed all the lashes for this person and asked her to speak to her technician and also seek further medical advice.

I can only imagine what she looked like based on some of the clients we get......as well as therapists who have gone for "cheap" training to save a few pennies only to find out that they are paying more because they need to be retrained.....,. sadly there is still companies out there who just train without being accredited or having any conscience of what it means to approve a therapist to do something as crucial as lash extensions...(its so close to the eye its vital to know what you are doing).....Glad she has found you though!!!!

It is scarey what some people will accept as being ok/the norm. I have yet to see a set of really bad lashes (my own aren't perfect, but they aren't dodgy), but have heard of lots of horror stories on here. I am still new to it, but would never let someone leave with lashes stuck together or twisting on the wrong direction.
Unfortunately a few people obviously don't have a conscience when it comes to things like this.

Glad you were able to help her out, she was lucky to find you xx
