hi there - I love shellac & have a good range of colours but there are a few that just sit on my shelf never to be used ie: cocoa & asphalt!
Would love it if you geeks could help me out for some of the best layering ideas for them.
I don't have m & r but I do have iced coral/gold VIP/negligee/romantique/mop.

Have just discovered cocoa with gold VIP looks really good.... Any more & pics would be appreciated. Many thanks

I haven't tried it, but I read that iced coral looks good over cocoa. It also looks great over Blackpool (makes it a shimmery green) so I imagine it would look good over asphalt. If in doubt try it on the side of the bottle...that's what I do as it shows you what it would look like. Hth x

Negligee over asphalt is lovely! And mop on anything ;)
I regularly wear cocoa with gold VIP over and it tones it right down to warm gold.
Iced coral over cocoa is good too, mop on top even better ;) x

Sorry to butt in but does anyone have any pictures of cocoa on its own trying to find the right colour for a client who's tricky!!!!!!!!

Try moonlight and roses or strawberry smoothie over asphalt, it looks fabulous, and had been very popular with clients:D

Don't know if this helps!
The first one is Blackpool and iced coral
The second is asphalt with m & r over

I love how you've done a neutral brown collection :)

Thanks so much for the help..another question: can asphalt be layered with another dark to make any sort of blue colour?

I just find ppl ask for a 'pink' or 'gold' today and it was easier to order them by colour.

Plus who am I kidding I love a bit of organising. My DVD collection is alphabetised ;) geek!!!

You can layer purple purple over asphalt, the result is kinda blue, or negligee over blackpool gives a shimmery navy blue

I know it's not the same but this is Blackpool with negligee. Asphalt w/negligee is lighter almost creamier version of this. I'll have to do that one not yet on my colour wheel!
