Hi again chaps

This seems to be my night for asking questions! I have got a T200 whihc has started leaking from the pot. I called the place where I got it an they sent me a new seal ring thing that goes at the top of the pot where it attaches to the gun and also said that perhaps I was over tightening it (which is quite poss as I have very strong hands!) Anyway I put the new ring in and gave it a bit of a shake as you do to see if it was still leaking (it seemed fine) and started spraying my sister when it just started leaking all over the place same as before!

I hold it horizontally and move myself not it if you know what I mean as I go up and down the body and it didn't do this when I first got it in June, it has just started in the last couple of weeks or so. I only do probably 4/5 tans a month so it is definately not an overworked litttle person (my grammer has gone totally to pot tonight, I do apologise!) but I am wondering what it is I am doing wrong?

Any thoughts greatly appreciated (I did do a search but couldn't find anything)

Please!

Hi Lucy,

The very same thing happened to me a while back, I found that the plastic cup had a slight split on it where it screws on to the gun. You can sometimes see it once you've had solution in it and then emptied it as the solution gets trapped in the split. The only way to stop the leak is to get a new plastic cup. Sorry for the poor explaination, it's been a long day.

Hope this helps

To be honest I would contact the supplier of the machine again, as they resolve they gave you clearly didnt reslove your problems, am sure they will help you out more. I see you use sienna x.....not sure if thats where you got your machine but ask to speak to Rob if it is, he is the tech guy, he is fantastic and really helpful.

It really does sound to me like it's a gasket problem, try turning the new gasket the other way up and fitting it to your lid, some gaskets are smoothe on one side and rougher on the other which would give better adhesion to your cup if that makes sense x

I have had a leak before and I think it was because the thread at the top of the bottle had solution on it? once i'd got home and cleaned it all it didnt leak... until the next time it got solution on it... this normally only happens at partys when i'm chopping and changing colours. Now I make sure I wipe the thread on both the bottle and the bit it attaches to...

Ooh all fab ideas! I'll go home and try them all! Lx

There have been many cases like this and generally the problem emanates from over tightening which distorts the plastic thread as well as crushes the seal.
You really dont need to over tighten these cups...you do only need to "nip" the cup tight.

There has also apparently been some cups which have not been perfect from the manufacturing process...
I would suggest you get onto your provider..explain the problem and see what they can do to assist.
Maintenance through constant cleanliness of cups(and seal) and not over tightening will greatly assist in ensuring the seal is able to do its job properly.

A little tip if your pot screw thread is a little worn or distorted or the seal has been crushed due to over tightening is to wipe a little Vaseline around the seal which will help to improve the seal and wont effect the solution through contamination.
