hi
the 3 areas of make up i would like to specialise in are

bridal and special occasion make up
hen night/girls night in pamper parties
childrens/teen pamper parties

i have trained in make up artistry, although i am in the practice, practice, practice stage and will be embarking on another specialised bridal and promotions course early next year

i feel like i have spent thousands training, and building up my kit and portfolio and am still not quite confident enough to offer my services as a bridal make up artist, although others would disagree - i think i must be a perfectionist!

i have been thinking of offering other make up services until such times as i feel ready to let myself loose on bridal work ..

was thinking of training in manicure and nail art for the kids / teen and adults pamper parties - then being able to offer french manis to brides
just wondered if there were any other popular treatments or services that i could offer which would compliment the above

im also booked onto a nouveau lash extension course, but i guess thats another ball game altogether! would love to hear if any MUA offer eyelash extensions also?

Spray tanning or hair up-styles are popular for bridal/pamper parties.

Hey, I am a freelance make-artist and last year decided I needed to expand the services I offer. Eyelash extensions where THE best thing I could have trained in, and I am now just as busy with them as I am with make-up. All my brides have their lashes done before the wedding day, and then get addicted to them...
Another great thing to tap into is the prom season, which has just passed but bear it in mind for May-July next year!
I work within an amazing hair salon, and am the sole make-up artist there. It's great to tie-in with a local salon, as they can recommend you for weddings and make-overs, and in return you can offer your services for photoshoots etc. We do client evenings incorporating demos, lessons and pamper sessions which are really popular.
There's so much you can do, and don't be afraid to get cracking with the bridal make-up. It really is the best earner, and I find the majority of girls want a fresh, natural look and ALWAYS they want lashes - so get on that Nouveau course!
The manicure idea is also fab to offer to brides, and pamper parties, you could put a whole package together...
Hope this helps?
xx

I currently do nails and spray tanning aswell as kids parties. I would def do a lash course I'm waiting to do mine hth x

I started in the beauty industry (well, my training at least) on a makeup course which I'm just coming to the end of (city and guilds level 2 in skin care and makeup)

Doing this course gave me the bug to do a lot more and I'm currently working through my nvq 2 as a result which will mean I can offer waxing, lash and brow treatments, facials, manipedi as well as makeup :)

One day I'm love to do more makeup courses but the level 3 ones tend to all be full time at the moment

hi there

i agree with lulublu.. eyelash extensions are a must!!!

Any other service that you can offer brides is a bonus because you can start to sell them as packages. I offer hair styling to brides too, as well as Eyelashes. I have a massive demand for mani and pedi, so going to start my training next week for those.

Just have faith in yourself... confidence comes with time, but if you are confident in yourself...it will come across and more than likely the bride will be too!

I did beauty first, then a 2yr BTEC Diploma in Make Up, I offer make ups, mani's/pedi's, bio gel, waxing, tints, massage and facials. I don't offer hair styling at the mo, i did train in the units on my make up course but would rather do the make up and treatments and as one person i'd need an extra 5 pairs of hands lol!!

Brides usually always book for their waxing a couple of days before and then on the night before a lot of brides will book a pamper party as they have the girls around anyway and thats when i do all the mani's and pedi's.

Its a good way of increasing profit as a bride will usually book everything with you to avoid the hassle of going to lots of different places!! Weddings are big bucks the more you can offer the more you earn!!

If you need confidence ask around any amateur photographers in your area if they are doing any shoots and would like make up done and in exchange get a copy of the pics good way to build your portfolio and gain confidence working on many different types of skins etc!!
