Hi

I'm just browing some new matt polishes by zoya and there's one I fancy getting for myself.

Just wondering what top coat I'd use, most of mine are highly glossed which kinda defeats the object of using a matt polish.

Suggestions anyone?

i have nubar mat top coat (its ment to be for men lol) it works lovely tho , CND has a mat top coat now to but i havent tryed it yet .

Great, thanks I'll have to try and get hold of some to try them out.

I love the high glossy look, not sure what I'm going to make of this matt. I think I'll either love it or hate it! :green:

Essie do one too. It's called Matte about you. It's great! I love using it over black polish.

I also tend to do the whole nail matt with a shiny tip (with top coat) as it will stay a little longer...

matt top coat looks just so lovely on glitter lacquers, they look frosted and it's stunning!

OOOOOO must try this! Thanks! x

this may not apply to zoya lacquers, but i do know that with OPI you arent supposed to usea topcoat, or use any hand lotions or cuticle products whilst wearing mattes, as this will ruin the look...

i bought a suede effect one today, im going to use it with topcoat as i looked on a blog and it looks stunning glossy but abit...rugged just suede :)

It's the same for all matt, no top coat OR a matt top coat... but if you check a few out, you'll notice there are many different matt top coat--- so different matt effects if you knoow what I mean?

with OPI they also said not to even use a base coat, but this is crap, you can, and you better do, just make sure it's perfectly dry if you want a smooth application.
same goes for Suede, better use a base, such as Ridge filler...

for the lotion ruining the matt effect, true. even worse with cuticle oil...

Suede are like 6 new shades if you ask me. I love them all, my crush would be Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees Suede (so with no top coat) as it is A-MA-ZING! and OPI Ink Suede with top Coat as it SHI-NES. LOL

suzi ski's in the pyranee's is the one i picked up yesterday! i will have too try it suede, thanks doorie! :)

i did think the shades were a little off with the suede, to me they look nothing like the original shades of the same name! :)

well. really different from common polishes... it's non shiny, but with a kind of off-glitter... so it looks like Suede for real... but it's smooth. well it's weird!! but LO-VE-LY

well let me know what you think of it!!

just seen the new orly matte polishes in alan howards...loved them! might have to treat myself! xx
