Sweet squared,cnd, used to do a MATTE topcoat.You could use that

Hi guys. Someone came in asking if I can so this on them next week. I thought the answers would be on here. Just one question...doea buffing off the top coat leave the shellac unprotected? Meaning it wont last long etc?

You only need to lightly buff so you're not taking the actual topcoat off but just the shine. I've found that this finish has lasted just as long as a normal shellac service. :)
 
A client asked for this yesterday. Matte Shellac (Blackpool) with gloss tips.

It's did these on myself a few weeks ago, just buffed the top coat. I did 2 coats of top coat though just to make sure I didn't buff into the color.
