Hi guys, if anybody has this particular machine can you let me know if you set up the spray pattern as horizontal for upper body and vertical for lower body as it advises in the handbook?. On my particular training course I was taught to keep the air cap at 6o'clock for the whole body - as of yet ive never tried anything different! Also, how often do you clean the whole spray gun and filter?. Many thanks x

leave it at 6 o clock it gives a narrow but long spray pattern perfect for the arms and legs which are upper body, if you used the 9.15 setting you would waste loads of solution on the arms, and you cant go changing the gun to wide pattern for the back narrow for the arms spin em round and adjust it again for the chest ect :irked:
the makers are right in that it does cover a wider pattern at 9.15 and that is better for wide areas but they dont spray tan people as often as the rest of us :lol:
you should clean the gun out after every session by spraying warm water through the gun. and have a strip down and needle /filter clean weekly the filter should be cleaned and dried thoroughly before replacing

I would continue to spray as you have been trained... e.g. if you spray the back vertically you need the spray pattern to match so would need it at 6 oclock, if you spray the back horizontally then you would need it at 9.15 etc. If your routine is working why change it?

Right now im confused (not hard to do admittedly) but in my manual for the HVLP 5008 it says horizontal is 6 oclock and vertical would be 9.15???? I also dread the thought of taking the gun apart!!

I always find that at 6 o'clock its wine o clock time ...and anything after that really doesn't seem to matter :lol::hug:
did you mean 6am collin jeysus weve had some week mate, I could of done with a tot of your finest scotish single malt in my coffee this morning hope alls well in tantrick land and give my regards to Mrs tantrick

Sabrina dont worry about what the manual says just leave it at six oclock and spray top to bottom vertical, honestly 8 years in this job as an engineer has taught me that the time served therapists know best,
they have tried it all ways, and have decided top to bottom at 6 oclock is the best way for coverage speed and it uses least solution
A man wrote the manual for the 5008 :irked: and most of the time served therapists i mentioned are female ....... nuff said lol

Hi guys thanks for replies, really helpful. I will definitely keep it at 6o'clock.

Sabrina, i was dreading taking the gun apart and did it for the first time last night!. My only advice get somebody to read though the instructions with you, put couch roll on table so you can see all the pieces and literally place each part down in the dismantling order. Then put the gun back together starting with last piece first!!. It just takes one go and you will feel fine about doing it as its really straight forward! PS make sure you have to hand the pliers they mention!

good idea as ive always found that poping the cork before 6 o'clock somehow just gives me a hang over following morning :irked:

One of our tanning Geeks Jen Smith did an amazing video tutorial of stripping the gun down to clean.

Have a wee search in tutorials and hopefully it's still there as it allowed me to strip my gun down with confidence.

hth's:hug:
