Hi, I've just started spray tanning in the salon as we have a few people come in thru the week who want tans done when my therapist is off. I had a girl in yesterday and got myself all set up, gun at right settings etc, started spraying her back, and it went all funny....t looked like dark dots on her back but on closer inspection it was the hair on her back had caught some tan on it, i buffed it up and bit but then worried i had buffed the tan off (aaarrrgghhhh) so gave her another light mist. it was just on her back, top bits at her neck, and then on her legs a little bit. will this be uneven now? Its never happened before but apart from that her tan looked great. :) hope someone can help, thank youu!!!

Hi ya
It's just the tan on the hair's, You'll find once it has dried it will be ok. You find this happens sometime's if your too close to the client but once it's dry it's ok just explain to the client,,, it's best not to try to buff it and just leave it. That's what I have found in the past.

Hi Kim, don't worry about this as it will wash off ok. The tan will only go into the top layers of the skin so going over the same area will be fine. It may look darker with the bronzer/guild colour, but it'll wash off the same.
You did right to buff the solution off the hairs. x

Thank you both. :)

I figured the tan would be even all over...just wasn't sure about buffing but i thought if she saw it like that on her legs then she might think "holy moly what has this girl done" lol.

i've not heard anything from her so i guess it will all be good :) thank you again :) xxx

i find this sometimes happens when the ladies are cold and have goosebumps. turns out fine tho :)

I find this happens when ladies are cold and maybe i'm a little too close, but mine have always turned out fine don't worry!

generally speaking the tan tends to develop fine so no worries...has the customer now confirmed everything is fine ??
