2~ tone
3~scrub or exfoliate
4~ steam or hot towel
5~ microdermabrasion

hope this is helpful.

I really hope you are not a professional doing this on clients. NEVER exfoliate before a micro-dermabrasion, you will severly irritate if not burn the skin.
If you are doing micro-dermabrasion you should be train properly with the company of who's machine you use. Do not do micro-dermabrasion unless you are trained and they will tell you the rights and wrongs of the treatment.

If you are using a homekit from boots - its pants don't bother. You'd get better results using household cleaning products!

As Zo Zo said, you shouldn't use the MDA unless you have received training from the company whose machine you are using.

Contra-indications though are usually

Active or uncontrolld diabetes
Raised warts, moles and skin tags
Skin cancer and auto-immune diseases such as ME MS HIV AIDS
Eczema and sebhorreic dermatitis
Telangiectasias
Rosacea and active acne
Herpes Simplex
Asthma
Keloid scars should be avoided
Any medically prescribed meds such as roaccutane
Pregnancy

Aftercare should be to:
avoid heat treatments and uv expsoure for 48 hours
avoid swimming and exercise for 24 hours
Must use an SPF of at least 15
No sunbeds throughout the duration of the course of treatment
Avoid anything containing essential oils for 12 hours after
No AHAs or glycolics to be used for 3 days prior and 7 days after

HTH

ah, im trained with Derma Genisis, medical MDA and they say being pregnant is not a prob!
Oh well goes to show different machines and companys have different training:)

As far as I know, it could be classed as a condra-indication as pregnancy affects hormones which can effect the outcome of the treatment eg. skin may not benefit as much because of change in hormones? This is what I remember being told? Going to look into this more now :green:

Hi I would agree that it is not recommended to perform this treatment in pregnancy. Pregnant women are at a higher risk of hyperpigmentation due to hormone changes - I just would not risk it. :)

ditto no preggers ladies. If nothing else they have sensitized skin - would you want to risk ripping their skin off???
