Hiya, been doing the "business side of things" before setting up and Ive hardly had a chance to see whats going on in the nail world these last few months.

Can i just have a description of what they are, how they are used?

Ive seen lovely pictures!

Anyone know if they will be at Olympia show?

I did that first but it really doesn't give an explanation.

There are A LOT of threads on this very site re Minx, do a search and you'll be reading for hours :wink2:

i did that too :-( and all i found was people who clearly know what it is already talking about it, ill have a look again, i will be reading for hours just to find out what they are though.

Minx is a heat activated thin veneer (comes in hundreds of designs) which is applied to the surface of natural or enhanced nails or toes. The veneers can be plain colours or metallics or nail art designs. Minx last for weeks are instantly dry, require no solvents to apply or remove and clients adore them. Minx are heavily endorsed by celebrities and your clients know about them if they follow fashion. Available to professionals only from Sweet Squared (the UK home of Creative Nail Design/CND) 08452106060.

Fantastic thanks, i know now what they are! Sounds lovely! :)

i am trained to do manicures but not acrylic or gel nails... do you need to be able to do these to use minx nails???

No, all you need is to be qualified in manicure/pedicures xx

i tried in Minx last summer with the company i previously worked for.... i really enjoyed doing them but found that on hands, they didnt last very long at all. We had quite a few people have them done on toes though which looked really nice and seemed to last a month+.

Does anyone else find the hands not lasting long at all or just me?!!

Of course Minx do not last on fingernails as long as they do on the toes .. it stands to reason that we use our hands and nails and expose them to much more abuse than we do our toes. However, if clients are taught to just have a wee file around the free edge if they get to look a little worse for wear, then they look perfect again and last for much longer.

Another factor to consider is that clients are constantly feeling and 'playing' with Minxed fingernails. As soon as you get them applied they are feeling them and playing with them and checking the edges etc .. if clients left them alone like they do their toes, then the Minx would also last much longer. But they should certainly last for 2 weeks in very good shape and many go for 3 with no bother at all.
